This is a copy of a ring my mom got out of one of those candy dispenser thingies (I think) She wore it for years and years finding it's adjustable fit very comfortable. Finally, the plating had long worn off of it and it was turning her finger black so she set it aside. I've copied the simple strip with a heart pierced on each end in 20g silver.
It's funny what some people attach to and never take it off. Itsn't it a neat feeling to duplicate something that needs to be replaced? I bet your mom was thrilled when she saw this.

She's said she likes it a lot. A few times. So that's good. At least it doesn't rust! It's nothing like that Egyptian style ring of your mom's that you were trying to recast. Did you ever get a cast that worked out?

Its not so much the artwork that matters. But the fact your mom keeps saying how much she likes it, has to be an awesome feeling. At least the only thing it will need is the occassional touch up polish n shine. Way better then rustyness!
Yeah, I did finish the fabrication on the ring you mentioned. It was a wax ring my aunt had within the collection given to me. Old silver and new silver just doesn't work well in the mix of casting. Alloy changes over time. This link shows you what it looks like now. [link] , you'll have to look up the other one what it originally looked like. I saved the scarab, and cut the wings eveningly to give it a symmetrical figure, and soldered it onto a fine SS wire pattern band. It came out rather nicely.

Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
DeviantArt is full of extremely well produced artistic fashion and fine art photographs. Make up. Styling. Creation of scenery. Story. Light. Glamour. A combination of these expressions sometimes make up a great photograph. But the protagonists of these pictures are usually female.
So... now it's the time for male models to come into focus.

You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
